My 1st post and I'm not a mechanic or anything close to it. I purchased my 1st 1967 chevelle 3 months ago. It has a 1990 camaro 350 tpi engine in it. I have changed the iac, new plugs, wires, dist.cap and rotor. New o2 sensor. New coolant sensor. Pretty much the easy stuff for a guy with my limited knowledge.

A TPI engine should have a hydraulic roller cam stock, except for maybe the first year or two of TPI production. If you put a big enough cam in it to affect the idle, you are going to have to make some changes in the chip to get it to run right. Probably more fuel and almost certainly more timing.
